Z-TERMS
CUDDLEHERD (noun): A group of Zebonkies from the same species that live together. Members of a cuddleherd eat, play, travel, and sleep as a group. They sometimes leave their cuddleherd to visit and play with friends from other species or different cuddleherds.
Z-BOLT (noun): A brightly colored lightning symbol on each Zebonky’s chest. When a Zebonky is in danger, the Z-bolt pulsates. In moments of triumph, the Z-bolt glows bright!
Z-POWER (noun): A temporary magical power that a Zebonky can activate using its Z-Bolt. The Z-Boost might, for example, make the Zebonky stronger, faster, or better at a special skill. Each species of Zebonky has different Z-Boost abilities.
Z-CAVE (noun): A sacred cave in which a Z-Stone can be found.
Z-STONE (noun): A magical crystal rumored to be the secret to the Zebonkies’ hybridization!
Z-DIETS
BANANALOPES (noun): A roving bush shaped like an antelope, made entirely of branches. Instead of antlers, bananalopes grow banantlers (bunches of bananas that sprout from each side of their head like antlers!)
CLAMPODS (noun): A small, bivalve (clam-like) plant that grows sweet, pearl-shaped jelly seeds within its two shells. These jellies grow into clamlilies (gorgeous translucent flowers that rise from the ocean floor and float in coves on green lily pads). When a clamlily reaches the end of its life cycle, it closes up and hardens into a clampod. Inside, new jelly seeds begin to grow, and the clampod sinks back to the sea floor.
DEBRIWIS (noun): A sweet, yet putrid fruit that grows inside of a pitcher plant. Raccatoos cannot resist the stinky smell that wafts from a ripe debriwi. They have devised many clever ways to extract the debriwi from the pitcher plants’ gooey depths.
GRUBBERRIES (noun): A string of berries that grows from the roots of decaying grub shrubs. When these shrubs are near the end of their life cycle, these juicy grubberries emerge from the dirt and wiggle towards a nearby water source.
HAYCORNS (noun): An acorn-like nut that falls from the hardy hayfir tree. Squffalo love snacking on these nutrient dense haycorns.
POMALONES (noun): A fist-sized fruit that grows from a pompom bush. A pomalone has a tough, magenta rind that must be cracked open to reach the tangy, crimson pulp inside.
Z-FLORA
BISON'TENNIAL LOOSESTRIFE (noun): A large double-branched annual that begins as a huge seed and only blooms once each year.
GRAYPHERS (noun): Hanging from grayph vines, grayphers are puzzle plants with branches that twist into cages. Each cage protects a single golden, grape-sized seed. Be careful when opening, breaking the wrong branches causes the grayphers to snap shut around the shiny prize inside!
GRUB SHRUB (noun): A small shrub composed of colorful terrestrial coral. At the end of its life cycle, its roots release grubberries, which wriggle toward a water source. If not eaten by sharmadillos, these grubberries grow into new grub shrubs.
HAYFIR TREES (noun): A hardy, leafy tree that starts as a haycorn seed and grows into a towering multi-level shelter. Each year, the hayfir grows a new level or tier, so to determine the age of a haytree, just count up the number of levels.
POMPOM BUSH (noun): A small, round bush that produces fist-sized, magenta fruits known as pomalones. Pompom bushes thrive in sandy soil and breezy coastal areas. Curiously, they seem to cheer when the wind rustles through them.
